Pinnacle Armor is participating as a manufacturer in the BulletProof Vest Partnership program, established under the BVP Grant Act of 1998 (Public Law 105-181). The purpose of this Act is to save the lives of law enforcement officers by helping States and units of local government and tribal governments equip their law enforcement officers with armor vests.
The program is designed to pay up to 50% of the cost of NIJ-approved vests contained in a jurisdiction's application. NIJ-approved vests purchased on or after March 1, 1999 are eligible for funding. For more information, please see the BVP Website.

Bulletproof Vest Bill Passed for Purchase of Stab-Proof Vests for Correctional Officers
On June 15, 2000, the House Subcommittee on Crime of the House Judiciary marked up H.R. 4033, the 'Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act of 2000.' H.R. 4033, passed out of the Subcommittee on Crime with an amendment that allowed grants to be used for the purchase of stab-proof vests for correction officers. The bill now resides in the House Judiciary Committee.
H.R. 4033 is an extension of the current Bulletproof Vest Program, which passed in June 1998. The new legislation would reauthorize the old program through fiscal year 2004 and would double the funding for the program from $25 million to $50 million each year.
The vest bill was introduced March 20, 2000 by Reps. Peter Visclosky (D-IN) and Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ), who had introduced the original bill. Currently, H.R. 4033 has 249 cosponsors. This bill was signed into law (Public Law 106-517) by President Clinton on November 13, 2000.
Pinnacle Armor Announces Lease Program
Fresno, CA (January 1, 2003) -- Pinnacle Armor announced today the Industry's First Body Armor Leasing Program. This program is geared towards law enforcement departments and other law enforcement organizations that want or need to supply their personnel with body armor and accessories, but may have budget restrictions or other factors that make it prohibitive to purchase a vest for each officer.
