Our contour vest provides front, back, and partial side protection. This vest is generally cooler to wear because of the side openings which provide extra ventilation.
One of the most asked questions concerns the size of the side opening. Generally there will be a gap of 3" inches of ballistic protection on the sides of the torso. Combined with Aquadyne treatment this is as cool and dry as it gets!
Our San Diego™ style vest provides a larger amount of front, back and side protection than the current industry normal vest sizing standards. Our San Diego™ style vests, per given standard sizing dimensions, offers 4%-7% more ballistic coverage (size dependent), in a closer fitting anatomic design.
• The San Diego™ Style offers high under the armpit nonabrasive coverage. This style vest typically offers 4% more coverage than the industry standard large size.
• The San Diego™ Style offers greater coverage than other vest styles, including high upper back coverage near the neck.
• The San Diego™ Style offers front, side and rear coverage. The front panel wraps to meet the back ballistic panel.
When Considering What Threat Level You Need, There Are Several Factors To Consider:
Our Survivor Series™ vests are manufacured with Twaron® aramid or fifth generation polyethylene material.
Our Twaron® Aramid based level II-A system is 4mm thick, and weighs in at 11.5 Oz/Sq. Ft., and is designed to defeat high-energy handgun rounds. The polyethylene armor system is 3.5mm thick and weighs in at 7.7 Oz./Sq. Ft. These flexible body armor systems will defeat the following rounds:
Our Twaron® Aramid based level II system is 5.5mm thick and weighs 16 Oz/Sq. Ft. The polyethylene armor system is 5 mm thick and weighs in at 10.3 Oz./Sq. Ft. These systems will defeat the following rounds:
Our Twaron® Aramid based level III-A system is 7mm thick and weighs in at 19.2 Oz./Sq. Ft. and is one of the most popular choices of the American Market, with the stopping power for the 9 mm Sub Machine and the blunt trauma King the .44 Magnum. The polyethylene armor III-A system is 11.5 Oz./Sq. Ft. and is only 6mm thick and stops all the rounds listed below:
Finally, we have our Twaron® Aramid based level III-A+ system at 23.1 Oz./Sq. Ft., 8mm thick and stops the same 7.62mm x 25mm Tokerov round as mentioned above, but at 1470 Ft./Sec. – 1500 Ft./Sec. The polyethylene armor material achieves III-A+ performance at 12.8 Oz/Sq.Ft. and 7.5mm of thickness
Our ballistic chart lists the more common calibers that our vests defeat.

One might wonder what it takes to make washable carrier for your concealable vest that will actually last 24 months, which is the length of our warranty - a full six months longer than most of our competitors. Our carriers are made of a very tough yet light material called Supplex, an advanced nylon material by DuPont. From there we design and incorporate features that only make us better, not cheaper. One of the features that is hard to see, is the Aquadyne chemical treatment to the Supplex which is oppositely charged to your perspiration and attracts sweat away from your body and into the cover, keeping you drier.
Permanently Modifies the Fiber
Unlike fabrics that rely on capillary action, Aquadyne does not need to be worn close to the skin to work. Aquadyne transports moisture and thermoregulate by a chemical principle known as electrochemical transport. The process involves chemically modifying the fibers resulting in a permanent treatment which cannot be removed by laundering. The process can modify staple fiber, yarn, or fabric and can be applied to spun and filament yarns to produce both knits and wovens.
In cooler weather Aquadyne performance treated fabrics help the wearer retain heat by creating a layer of warm air between the skin and the fabric. A 100% relative humidity layer of moist air is created between the skin and the fabric that holds more heat during cooler temperatures. The fabric adjusts to trap heat while releasing moisture, always helping to keep the wearer warm, dry and comfortable. Because the Aquadyne treated fabric electrostatically pulls moisture, it increases the heat capacity of trapped air next to the skin.
In warm temperatures the fabric responds electrostatically, moving moisture and excess heat from the body to the surface of the fabric for release. The fabric adjusts its properties in hot weather to help keep the wearer cooler and drier. The more a wearer perspires, the more the fabric electrostatically moves moisture from the body. As activity decreases the fabric will reduce the evaporative process, leaving a constant water barrier between the wearer and the fabric.

Every aspect of the carrier involves more steps to ensure the best quality and durability than any other manufacturer in the world. We've made numerous examinations of the marketplace and compared our cover and quality features to those presently available and have found nothing as well constructed, and it's all at a very competitive performance rating, comfort level and price.
