Contour™ Style Vest

Cooler & Drier

Contour Style Vest

Our contour vest provides front, back, and partial side protection. This vest is generally cooler to wear because of the side openings which provide extra ventilation.

One of the most asked questions concerns the size of the side opening. Generally there will be a gap of 3" inches of ballistic protection on the sides of the torso. Combined with Aquadyne treatment this is as cool and dry as it gets!

When Considering What Threat Level You Need, There Are Several Factors To Consider:

  1. What kind of firearm do you carry?
This is important because many shootings occur when your firearm is accidentally taken.
  2. What weapons do you commonly find or confiscate?
This will give you a window into the weapons in your area as every area of the world has different threats, for example: In western Europe the 9mm is the common threat, however generally they are steel cased or moving a bit faster than the American variety. While Eastern Europe the 7.62mm x 25mm lead core Tokerov will often be found on criminals. In Russia it's either the steel core 7.62mm x 25mm A.P. or the Makorov, which is a version of the 9mm pistol and is generally using easy to stop ammunition. So where you work and live has a major impact on your choice of threat levels.

Our Survivor Series™ vests are manufacured with Twaron® aramid or fifth generation polyethylene material.

Concealed Carrier System

One might wonder what it takes to make washable carrier for your concealable vest that will actually last 24 months, which is the length of our warranty - a full six months longer than most of our competitors. Our carriers are made of a very tough yet light material called Supplex, an advanced nylon material by DuPont. From there we design and incorporate features that only make us better, not cheaper. One of the features that is hard to see, is the Aquadyne chemical treatment to the Supplex which is oppositely charged to your perspiration and attracts sweat away from your body and into the cover, keeping you drier.

Permanently Modifies the Fiber
Unlike fabrics that rely on capillary action, Aquadyne does not need to be worn close to the skin to work. Aquadyne transports moisture and thermoregulate by a chemical principle known as electrochemical transport. The process involves chemically modifying the fibers resulting in a permanent treatment which cannot be removed by laundering. The process can modify staple fiber, yarn, or fabric and can be applied to spun and filament yarns to produce both knits and wovens.

AQUADYNE - Cold / HotCold Weather
In cooler weather Aquadyne performance treated fabrics help the wearer retain heat by creating a layer of warm air between the skin and the fabric. A 100% relative humidity layer of moist air is created between the skin and the fabric that holds more heat during cooler temperatures. The fabric adjusts to trap heat while releasing moisture, always helping to keep the wearer warm, dry and comfortable. Because the Aquadyne treated fabric electrostatically pulls moisture, it increases the heat capacity of trapped air next to the skin.

Hot Weather
In warm temperatures the fabric responds electrostatically, moving moisture and excess heat from the body to the surface of the fabric for release. The fabric adjusts its properties in hot weather to help keep the wearer cooler and drier. The more a wearer perspires, the more the fabric electrostatically moves moisture from the body. As activity decreases the fabric will reduce the evaporative process, leaving a constant water barrier between the wearer and the fabric.
